9: That's Not All, Folks!

One new piece of equipment we have had out here in the field this year is a high-definition video camera, and we've used it to shoot lots of video (about six hours worth—thanks to Akiko Shinya, our Chief Preparator in The Field Museum’s Geology Lab, who also served as our team videographer and photographer!)

Once we've review and edit the material, we'll invite you to check out a number of clips, including footage of some exciting new fossil finds—captured on video the moment they came out of the ground—and interviews with the students, staff, volunteers, and our hosts, the Tynsky family.

We hope to continue updating and upgrading the Expeditions website with new content, new activities, and new technologies as time goes on. Our Expeditions family is growing. Eighty-one new subscribers have joined our list since my current Fossil Basin site was launched, in addition to our existing 3,000-plus subscribers and untold visitors who join us via the web. This is as exciting to me as sawing a new fossil out of the limestone!
