The 2012 Team

The Costa Rica ant expedition involves several related projects and includes a diverse group of scientists addressing questions of ant evolution, trophic ecology, and co-evolution of ants and gut microbes. This project was made possible from support from the U.S. National Science Foundation and the Negaunee Foundation grants to Dr. Corrie S. Moreau, who led the expedition in the field and manages the Moreau Ant Lab at The Field Museum. In addition, logistics for this project were greatly facilitated by Dan Janzen, Winnie Hallwachs, Róger Blanco Segura, and the staff of the Area de Conservación Guanacaste (ACG), Costa Rica.
