Iziko South Africa Museum
Roger Smith is Curator of Karoo Paleontology at the Iziko South African Museum. His main interests are sedimentary geology and paleoecology, and he is an expert on South African vertebrate fossils and their depositional environments. Roger will be working to understand the taphonomy and paleoenvironment of the Antarctic fossil assemblages, and to place these assemblages in the broader context of climate and environmental change in Gondwana during the Triassic and Jurassic periods.
